Austin O’Neill Dunyk ’98

Austin has been on the Alumnae/i Board for eight years and volunteers on Giving Day to assist with fundraising efforts.

A boarding student at Masters from 1994-1998, Austin was co-captain of the fencing, soccer and lacrosse teams and won the Senior Athlete Award. She was co-president of MISH and participated in the Midnight Runs in New York City. She volunteered for the Special Olympics, was an active member of Gold Key, and served as a peer group leader and dorm proctor. She earned the Community Service Award her senior year.

Austin was recruited to fence on Penn State University’s NCAA Championship Fencing team. Her team earned two National Championship Titles during her time there and she became a two-time All-American. A journalism major, Austin earned a Hearst Award for a print feature titled “Fighting Fires, Finding Brothers.” She graduated from Penn State with a degree in communications, focusing on print and broadcast journalism, and a minor in engineering leadership development. 

Austin became a news director for WRTA Radio in Altoona, PA and then a reporter for WTOP/WFED radio stations in Washington, D.C.  There, she earned an award from the National Press Club for a radio feature titled, “Veterans and the Arts." Austin later worked as a communications director for a state senator in Pennsylvania and a financial advisor at Prudential and a private client banker for JP Morgan Chase. She is the owner and operator of Urban Welcome Property Services, a commercial property management company and commercial cleaning company.
